You Live in the Heart of Your Stories

You are where you need to be to write. You don't need to sign up for an expensive writing weekend. You don't need to travel a thousand miles to find your stories. You don't need to do anything beyond occupying your life. Welcome home.

Now.

Gather your writing materials: paper, pen, pencil. laptop, timer, objects that carry stories. Find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted. (Sometimes the front seat of my car with the windows open is perfect.) Settle in. Set the timer for as long as you want to write for today. Thirty minutes can be both comfortable and just enough of a stretch.

Here is today's prompt: I wait for the moment. Time keeps moving. Stories shimmer on the horizon. I go toward them . . .

I invite you to share your writing in the Comments section of this post.
